What Happens During Treatment?

During treatment:

1. The affected nail is prepared. 
2. Swift® microwave energy is applied to the treatment area.
3. The appointment in entirety will take 30 minutes.
4. Patients are usually able to return to normal activities immediately after treatment.

Some patients experience a brief sensation of warmth or discomfort during treatment, but this is generally well tolerated.

 

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Treatments are carried out over the course of one month. This will include 3 treatments every 2 weeks.

 

When Will I See Results?

Fungal nail infections take time to improve because healthy nail growth is gradual.

Even when treatment is successful, visible improvement occurs as new healthy nail grows from the base of the nail. This process can take several months, particularly for toenails.

Regular monitoring and photographic comparisons may be used to assess progress throughout treatment.
